Third Floor - Grand Marble Stairway
The Grand Marble Staircase was constructed of white cloud marble shipped from the states of Tennessee and Vermont. As you take the grand marble stairway to the third floor it is fun to try and locate the one marble spindle on the right side of the staircase that was installed upside down. The stained glass ceiling area above the Staircase is referred to as the Vault. The Grand Staircase is where the Inaugural Procession always takes place at the time of installation of the Governor and other elected officials. Next Stop: Flip File
